County to Act on Stray Dog Damages to Livestock
County Commissioners plan decisive steps after frequent depredations by stray dogs. Since October 3 the county paid $231.38 to residents for stock losses including heifers sheep and turkeys. Funds come from dog license sales. Officials blame feeding neglect and many ownerless dogs roaming country, with hunting dogs a major problem. Action to curb the issue is deemed necessary before Fair Week and hunting season.
