Washington reports producers’ meat animal prices on September 15 show a notable year over year increase. The average price was 7.68 per 100 pounds versus 7.15 a year earlier with hogs at 8.11 versus 7.68, beef cattle 6.38 versus 5.92, veal calves 8.06 versus 7.73, sheep 4.80 versus 4.23, and lambs 6.27 versus 5.51.
London and Paris dispatches report German forces advancing toward Ostend from Antwerp with a strong air and artillery campaign.
