Smithsonian outdoor solar system exhibit travels the nation
The Smithsonian unveils Voyage A Journey Through the Solar System, an outdoor display stretching more than a football field length, extending 630 yards along the National Mall. The sun, planets, and related features appear as large plaques and models across a wide outdoor path near the Hirshhorn and Smithsonian Castle, inviting millions of visitors to learn about the solar system beyond museum walls. NASA officials highlight shared discoveries and the wonder of space as part of the presentation led by Smithsonian coordinator Carty Hart and NASA Education Office involvement.
