Mishandled case criticized by governor and police
Governor McKeldin faulted state police for delays in serving warrants against a Baltimore contractor while noting two individuals erred. Col. Munshower reported rule violations by a corporal, and McKeldin said Maj. Weber was wrong to delay service but not to condemn the commander. The incident dates to July 1957 in Anne Arundel County. Meanwhile Argentina faced a nationwide 24 hour strike by labor unions over living costs, with government offices and schools closed for Pope Pius XII's death observance.
