Turkey Price Is Lower Than Year Ago
Maryland turkey growers face about five cents less per pound for live birds and eight cents less for dressed birds compared with last fall. Overproduction from a 61 million bird national crop drives prices down, with heavy birds selling in October to November as the market warms. Maryland’s contribution to the Eat More Turkey fund totals £1,122 of the $125,000 national drive.
