Mayor Culler plans a studied position on using city prisoners for street labor. The idea has been discussed since 1913 1916 and again in 1917 but never enacted. He intends to issue a formal statement within a few days after mature consideration.
Mona McLellan also Dorothy Cochrane Logan, a London physician, completed the English Channel crossing from Cape Gris Nez to Folkestone in 13 hours 10 minutes. She started from Cap Gris Nez at 7:40 p.m. yesterday, becoming the second woman to conquer the channel recently after Mercedes Gleisz.
A lone robber forced his way into a Security Savings Bank and Trust branch in Toledo Ohio early today tying four employees and escaping with 4685 in currency. The robber missed 15000 locked in the safe.
In Martimine West Virginia two men received five year prison terms and five thousand dollar fines for a stock fraud under the West Virginia Speculative Securities Act. The defendants sold stock in the Canoco Oil and Gas Company claiming profitable teaper gas rights and future drilling on land.
