Solomon K. Meyerhoff, son of a Pottstown shirt maker, was arrested in Philadelphia at the Friends asylum after eluding authorities for three weeks. He is charged with passing two bogus checks totaling over $2000 on G. Kohner of Brooklyn. Bail was posted by his father as Meyerhoff returned to the asylum to await New York requisition papers. General Funston to leave Cuba with Taft’s announcement.
A simplified spelling free school will open at the West Side Y M C A in the city on the evening of October 15. The school is offered jointly by the simplified spelling board and the educational department at the Y M C A as an elective course to ten students.
