Death ends long right to die fight for Hugh Finn
Hugh Finn 44 former Louisville TV anchor died in Annaburg Manor Nursing Home eight days after his feeding tube was removed at his wife's request. He had suffered a ruptured aorta in 1995 and lived in a persistent vegetative state. His family, once bitterly split over feeding tube removal, expressed grief and a desire for reconciliation. Virginia law allows withholding food and water in such cases. The case drew court actions including Gov Gilmore’s intervention, but a judge ruled against keeping the tube.
