Following the recital refreshments were served and an informal discussion on the club and its aims occurred, with Miss Mangarei Kent and Mrs Bjoriee hosting the event.

Fugitive Indicted for Murder Escapes in Shootout
Floyd Baldwin, indicted for murder, fled during an early morning confrontation with sheriffs' deputies. Deputy Leo Flanagan was killed and another officer wounded in the exchange. Baldwin had been sought since September 12 when Joan L. Peaf was killed during a holdup at the Sylvania Club.
