Solar energy course offered at Frederick vo-tech center

Frederck Com Munis College will offer a continuing education course in Solar Energy and the Home starting Oct 1. Classes meet Wednesdays 7 to 10 pm at the Frederick County Vo-Tech Lee campus, with a fee of 22 dollars, pre-registration 15 required. Instructor Mike Tallman Tailmoz, president of Solar Energy Systems & Products Inc, brings engineering and energy consulting background to the two year old Emmitsburg company.

Westminster girl hit by car during CROP Walk

A 14 year old girl in Westminster was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Chevette at Md 27 near Old Westminster Road at 3 p.m. She was listed in good condition with a fractured leg at Carroll County General Hospital. Kimberly Ann Brown, 6 Milton Avenue Westminster, and her mother were participating in the Church World Service Hunger Appeal walk.
