Cement Plant Dust-Free And Not An Eyesore
Alpha Cement executives say the Buckeystown Lime Kiln project will not foul air or disturb neighbors. Dust will be captured by three collectors, with under 2 percent escaping, and vibration will be minor. The plant, costing about 15 million dollars, will produce three cement types plus mortar cement, employ 400 during peak construction and about 650,000 annually in wages, with power needs around 22 kilowatt hours per barrel. Executives from Easton, Pa attended a Lions Club meeting in Adamstown with county officials and several service club representatives.
