County Could Get 100000 From Maryland Race Revenue

The Sherbow Commission proposes revising Maryland race revenue allocation. Frederick County would gain about 100000 annually from one mile tracks and 3635 from half mile tracks, with further city allocations listed for 1946 and 1948 figures. The plan eliminates tax on net revenues, raises gross pool tax, and shares all state race revenues with counties and Baltimore city by population. The Maryland State Fair Board would keep 4000 per mile track but no longer receive general fund subsidies.
