The Old Sixth District and Its Congressional History
A historical account traces Maryland’s Sixth District evolution from Frederick and Allegany counties through various Acts, detailing district realignments from 1791 to 1913, the shift of Carroll and Montgomery, and Garrett additions. It lists twenty or more congressmen, highlighting Frederick as most represented, with notable figures including Sheredluo Sprigg Ringgold Nelson and Worthington, and notes equal party distribution among living members.

Rural page reads through fog of dates and voices
Fragmentary column blends political chatter about Congress and local road work with community notices and poems. Mentions Freder ick and Middletown elections, patrols, crowds near a fair, and a long moral reflection urging public virtue. Ends noting governors and guards plan entertainment tonight. Local names shown: Patrick, Billy Allen, Charley Millet, Nick, Grog.
Fragmented OCR notice hints at sale and disguise of goods
The legible fragments indicate a public sale notice with references to sellers and addresses. Names or precise items remain unclear, but the text suggests a sale action linked to a local official or firm, with partial street and owner details readable in patches.
