Man leads police on wild high-speed chase through five counties
A heavily armed man led police on a 60-mile pursuit Sunday from Anne Arundel County along the Beltway to I-70 near Frederick, firing at officers and later fatally shooting himself at a Frederick truck stop. Michael Brenden Rhodes Jr., 28, of Glen Burnie died at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center after the 12:35 p.m. incident. Authorities say Rhodes owned the weapons found in his car, and the chase began after vandalism reports in Hanover.

Protestors lined West Patrick Street from the Towne Mall to Market Street and formed a human cross on Market Street between Church and All Saints streets.
