Do Your Calves Have Worms
Dr. Robert C. Hammond of the University of Maryland Extension warns that nearly all dairy calves may be infected with worms. Watershed Projects Cut Flood Damage and Create Jobs
U S Department of Agriculture reports watershed protection since 1954 prevented $142 million in property damage. Projects curb erosion on 1.4 million acres and keep 11.5 million tons of sediment out of waterways, while generating about 50,700 jobs and $152 million in local payrolls last year. New reservoirs serve 260,000 people in 46 communities and 150 towns will gain manmade lakes. Recreation expands with 99 percent of lakes used for boating, swimming, and fishing. Reforestation and habitat work improved over 12,000 acres of land and water.
