Thursday Race Finishes At Fair Close
A large Frederick Fair crowd witnessed a bright racing program headed by HROV Crook of Hanover steering Tom O'Brien to three heat wins in the Francis Scott Key Stake. Johnny Mallilieu swept the 220 trot aboard Judge Bohenna, while Bumpie Lewis dominated wins for Hagerstown Boy and Peter Goldwell. Aruba and Kid O'Sullivan also posted top placings as the meet produced fast times and tight finishes. Separately, three gamblers received jail terms and fines in an Baltimore case after a welching dispute.
