Half a Million In Ashes At Heacock's Philadelphia Warehouse
A Sunday morning fire destroyed Heacock's storage warehouse and nine adjoining houses in Philadelphia. The six story facility stored goods for 600 families, with losses estimated at 500000 and insurance of 150000. The blaze began on the fourth floor, winds lofted flames to forty feet, no one was inside.
