Therapists accused in sex abuse cases spark lawsuits
In San Diego a $30 million suit alleges psychologist William Latta used therapy to coerce Laura Sullivan-Bennett into a sado masochistic regime with whips and porn, while another suit targets Alwyn M Freed for sexual acts with a teenage patient. Other cases and a UCLA survey noted alleged sexual misconduct by therapists, with few laws to criminalize it.
