Would Britain Give Up Hong Kong Debate
Washington column questions whether Great Britain will surrender Hong Kong amid pressure from the Brisa party. It notes Hong Kong’s 691 square miles and 2.6 million population, mostly Chinese, with a small British citizen base. The piece cites potential mainland cession of Hong Kong to China as strengthening the case for giving up the colony.
