Scout rocket succeeds in first all solid fuel orbital test
NASA describes Tuesday’s Scout rocket flight as a complete success. The 72 foot tall booster reached 3,500 miles high and 5,800 miles out over the Atlantic on a 70 minute mission launched from Wallops Island. The solid fuel rocket offers cheaper, versatile options for orbital missions and can be launched from multiple sites.
