Courier Satellite Into Orbit
A 500 pound magnetic brain satellite named Courier 3B launched from Cape Canaveral marks a stepped first in a planned US military global communications network. It relays voices and data between ground stations with high speed teletype recorders and will be tested by enlisted personnel at Fort Monmouth and Camp Lasinas Puerto Rico.

State May Need Office Building In Baltimore
A statewide space survey indicates Maryland agencies may need a new Baltimore office building within five years to house about 600 employees. James J. O'Donnell of the State Planning Department said preliminary reports show a 15 story State Office Building and a 6 story SRC structure could cost about 15.5 million dollars. the current State Office Building is full and housing 40 agencies since 1959. The study covers redeveloping a 74 acre tract north of downtown and includes travel through Maryland counties to assess space needs through the decade.

Police report a Brunswick resident Davis Hanson Cooley age 37 drove north on Horine Road when he swerved off the road and into a small stream causing heavy damage to the right side and top of his car.
