Cole defense calls no witnesses in youth manslaughter trial
Defense for 18 year old Alan Cole rested without calling witnesses in Frederick County Circuit Court as jurors prepared to begin deliberations. State witnesses described the accident scene on Patuxent Road near Fort Meade where ten teenagers died when Cole’s pickup crashed. Medical testimony cited alcohol in Cole’s system and a later toxicology review supported high speed and recklessness as contributing factors.
