Street Youth Named Star Farmer at FFA Banquet
James W. Galbreath, 20, of Street Md was named Maryland Star Farmer at the annual FFA banquet in Calvary Methodist church parish mall. Twenty four Maryland farmers earned Maryland Farm Degrees as 1 266 FFA members competed for proficiency awards ahead of Frederick Fair contests. Galbreath owns a dairy farm with Ayrshire stock and $5 000 invested. Maryland Farmer degrees were awarded to Alfred P Anders Cordova Osbourne Ayers Cumberland and many others. Emmitsburg led chapter contests with first place and $100, while Westminster and Emmitsburg officials announced new officers for next year. Local officials discussed reporting low flying planes to authorities. no altitude ordinance was indicated. Newsprint price decontrol was urged by the House Interstate Subcommittee to prevent shortages.

CAA Warns Against Low and Reckless Flying
The Civil Aeronautics Administration states it does not condone dangerous flight attitudes that threaten people or property. A Frederick resident received a letter on the matter after a complaint about a pilot performing dive bomber like stunts mid‑afternoon on a Sunday. Police were alerted but no ordinance existed to curb altitude, leaving Frederick without such controls.
