Washington Oct 4 AP Taue Pub Me Works Administration announces Harry L Hopkins exempted its 330 million non-Federal program from the 90 percent relief roll requirement. The order follows Hopkins earlier decision that S100 and 000 PWA slum clearance program employees need not come from relief rolls. WPA reports 1,126,734 jobs provided by Oct 3 in the drive to employ 3,500,000 needy.
The report notes 24 hour precipitation as none and October to date at 30 inches with a 258 inch annual total and a 9 inch October value for a prior year. Three box cars abandoned by the Baltimore and Ohio along a siding east of Frederick Junction were burned early today. The empty cars had stood along the tracks for months. Judge Milton Garner Jr held arraignment in Peoples Court this morning, with a ten dollar default fine. He also faced charges for using dealer tags without written permission and for involving another person. a stop occurred after a steering issue raised by Officer Roof Tavis.
In Frederick Circuit Court, Robert Pyles testified that a jail confession naming Maiel Gue in the Thurmont Milling and Supply theft of three barrels of flour was coerced by Sheriff Charles Crum and Deputy Foreman for money and to pay his washing machine.
