Murdered Maryland cleaner found in Potomac River
Deanna talked of going to Mary Lohman's house in Boonsboro and crying as she left. Mrs. Butts, a house cleaner, disappeared that night and her body was recovered April 22 in the Potomac River near Lander's Landing, Frederick County. A Washington County deputy last saw her walking along Md. 67 as rain fell. she refused a ride home. Victor Wolf, a former investigator, suspects an acquaintance may be the killer.

Missing Frederick County man found in field
The body of 33 year old Eric Allen Eyler of Union Bridge was found in a field off Whiskey Springs Road. Maryland Medical Examiner tests and toxicology are pending. Eyler was last seen September 19 making a bank deposit in Walkersville and was reported missing September 23 by his father.

Middletown Heritage Weekend draws big turnout
Middletown hosts its 11th Annual Heritage Weekend with Civil War reenactors, a parade, and a ransoming reenactment of Middletown from Jubal Early. Darr Wins Men’s Marbles Title At Middletown Meet
Bobby Radar Darr, 35 of Cumberland, won the men’s marbles championship at Middletown. He defeated Cumberland resident Rick Mawhinney after advancing from the losers’ bracket with two comeback wins 50 47 and 50 45. Co chair Jeff Kimmell praised Darr’s emotional victory and noted many in tears. The event, second annual, was co sponsored by Braddock Heights Optimist Council and Middletown Recreation Council. Stephanie Zolasie of Pittsburgh won the women’s hot shot 50 36 over Trish Tressler of Middletown.

More than 150 people formed a human chain to protest abortion in Emmitsburg on Sunday. Frederick resident Mary Woodard and her husband Lt Col Claude Woodard discussed adopting six of their nine children, five with severe disabilities, including Catherine and Tiffany.
