Stevenson Urges Federal Aid to Education Plan
Adlai E Stevenson called for a broad federal aid program to fund teachers and 100000 new classrooms yearly, with college access for all capable students. He urged grants, possibly via income tax funding, and said education should be universal without discrimination while noting cost and the need for improved national leadership. The plan folds into a larger critique of Eisenhower administration policy and its educational stance.
