Barn Beams Build Modern Home Near Urbana
Dan Benson transforms a 19th century barn into a 3000 square foot residence on Thurston Road near Urbana using massive 45 foot beams. The project, aided by his father Buddy and neighbors, features brick kitchen floors and integrated drywall, with inspectors approving on first pass. The Bensons emphasize low maintenance and rustic charm despite initial family challenges during construction.
