Twelve year old Gill Derge wins Mid-Maryland photo contest
Gill Derge, 12, of 521 Wilson Place, an eighth grade Gov. Thomas Johnson Middle School student and Boy Scout Troup 1600 member, won a photo contest by the American Lung Association of Mid-M Maryland. Others who identified all four pictures were Ann Harne of Ellerton and Denis Wise of Middletown. Nine people identified three of the pictures. The winning photos depict scenes along the Maryland Appalachian Trail used for the Lung Association fundraising trek October 10 to 12, including Black Rock Hotel near Wolfsville, George Washington Monument overlook at Boonsboro, War Correspondents Arch at Gathland, and Weverton Cliffs near the intersection of US 340 and Md. 67.
