Holter Road crash claims Hagerstown man life
A 61 year old Washington County man William Edward Martz of Hagerstown died in a single vehicle crash on Holter Road near Middletown during heavy rain. The car, driven by Melvin Eugene Springer 20 of Keedysville, left the road skidded and hit a tree turning over. Springer and two passengers Cindy Griffin 26 and Charles McGowan 63 were hospitalized with unlisted conditions. The four were believed en route to work. The incident remains under investigation. This brings Frederick County road fatalities to 18 for the year, vs 21 at this time last year.
