Donald Eugene Lyles age 18 of New Londons and Thomas B. Foreman 318 Centerville were found guilty of assault and battery in Magisterial Court. Magistrate Edward D. Storm deferred sentencing pending medical examinations. Witnesses Roger Smith and Shirley Jefferson testified to the scuffle at Saints Street tavern and Moore’s subsequent stabbing three times. Moore, a Clarksburg resident, remained hospitalized.

The Associated Press reports five people died in Maryland traffic crashes over the Thanksgiving weekend. Ephie Bovender, 57, of Oxon Hill, died from a skull fracture after a Friday collision on Indianhead Highway.
