Indications today show Frederick county officials elected to take office tomorrow may wait several days as commissions from Governor O Connor do not arrive. The State Canvassing Board will not meet until Friday delaying certifications to the Secretary of State and the Governor.

Capt John Franklin Meehan 42 of the Army Air Corps died in a plane crash at Danbury Connecticut yesterday afternoon. He served as an engineering officer with air operations on the east coast from the Rome New York airfield. He was a World War I veteran and married in 1935 to Frances Feiser. The couple has two children and resided with Frances’s parents in Woodsboro.

Jury Chosen For McClelland Manslaughter Trial In Rockville
An all male jury was seated in under half an hour for the trial of Raymond R. McClelland 59 year old Baltimore and Ohio Railroad engineer charged with manslaughter in the Dickerson wreck that killed 13 identified victims. State's Attorney Wilkison said the prosecution would prove criminal negligence and Hochstetter death is the sole target for a guilty verdict. McClelland pleaded not guilty as Judge Woodward presiding set a ten year maximum on the charge.
