Portsmen To Attend Dam Meet
The Frederick County Fish and Game Protective Association Inc will be well represented at the December 6 public meeting by Corps of Army Engineers and president George R. Hargis IT. He warns a 110-foot River Bend dam would flood about 40,000 acres of farm land and wildlife areas along the Potomac from Great Falls to Brunswick, with a lake replacing the Potomac banks and Canal towpath. He urges impoundments in mountain areas to protect wildlife and avoid high priced land while providing water for Washington DC.
