Carroll County youths convicted of arson in Long farm fire
LeRoy T. Smith Leo D. Foreman and Claude S. Bowers were found guilty of two counts of arson for the October 21 fire that destroyed a large bank barn on Leonard C. Long’s Harney area farm. A fourth youth Louis W. Shifflett awaited trial after emergency surgery. Charges against Smith and Foreman for unlawful burning were dropped.
