Jefferson Observe Centenary of Lutheran and Reformed Churches
Centenary observance in Jefferson marks 100 years since the origins of the Lutheran and Reformed churches. Sermons by Rev. Abdel R. Wentz and Rev. Dr. Leinbach, with addresses on heritage and ministry, highlight a union service at 10:15 a.m. and an evening session. Local ministers and former members send congratulatory messages as church histories note German immigrant roots and successive pastorates through 1840.
