Frederick Announces Bids For Opera House Hotel Project
City seeks proposals to convert the old city hall into the Opera House Hotel while negotiating for Carroll Creek land. Developers must meet city guidelines and show funding. If financing falters, control may pass to the next lowest bidder as a land price is set to support development. The plan targets year-round use and job creation, with at least 31 percent for low income workers. The Greyhound terminal will relocate to Carroll Street before construction. Further interest remains open at City Hall.
