May Set Drouth Record In Frederick County Report
May drought status described by the local weather observer compares this month to historic November dryness. Up to morning, precipitation stood at 0.46 inch, just 0.01 inch below the driest November on record, 1922. Rain or snow may arrive by late Sunday, with multiple past Novembers cited as comparably dry. Water supplies, including Fishing Creek reservoir, are under stress across the county, though towns like Brunswick report adequate if leaky reservoirs. A deed filed records sale of the former Amon Burgee property near Frederick to Frederick County Products, about 40 acres, with improvements and residential retainment anticipated.
