Ski College Mountain owner Snow Time Inc sues Mount St Marys College in Frederick County Circuit Court for more than 20 million dollars. The suit cites unfair competition tortious interference with contracts abuse of process and assault and battery linked to a logging operation and a failed plan to turn land into a ski resort. The case seeks 300000 in direct damages 1 million in punitive damages and a hearing date has not yet been set.

Police arrest two in two Gaithersburg murders
Montgomery County police charged two men with first degree murder in separate killings. Joseph Warren, 45, was shot at 9872 Brookridge Court in Gaithersburg and died at Suburban Hospital. Frank Proctor, 41, Warren’s roommate, was arrested. Leonardo Martinez, 24, of Alexandria, was charged in the Sept 2 death of Marilia Leles, 27, found dead in her Silver Spring apartment after leaving Chelsea's bar in Georgetown with two Hispanic men.

City power outage after street light collision
A Potomac Edison crew in the 300 block of East Second Street caused a short circuit by crossing two power lines on Wednesday afternoon. The incident left 465 customers without electricity for about two hours, from 2:20 PM until 4:38 PM, according to division manager Richard Roschli.
