Mission Revives Failing St George's Church in Louisville
In Louisville's West End the 1912 St George's Episcopal Church dwindled from 230 members to 60 as whites fled to suburbs. In 1964 a vandalism incident sparked the Urban Mission Council to revive the church. Now a Boys Club and community programs fill the space, with 60 members and an active choral group. Rev Ta tchau serves as fulltime minister, funded by a national church drive.
