Ten juniors and seniors from Elmer Wolfe High School will tour the United Nations building in New York on November 29 and join a U N program. Mrs Mary Jane Shank accompanies the group. travellers include John Myerly Ann Crumpacker Sylvia Roelke Jim Saylor Shirley Fox John Hood Gretchen Reese Nelle Schell Eleanor Baker and Rose Marie Grabull. Mrs Edward Stambaugh near Union Bridge hosted a card and handkerchief shower for her birthday. Mr and Mrs James Booker and daughter Alice Mt Union will spend two weeks in Florida. A bus trip to Hershey Pa on December 11 is planned for local residents to attend the ice follies. Mrs George Stauffer was admitted to St Agnes Hospital Baltimore for surgery.

Mt Airy 4-H member Johanna Magaba will attend the 33rd National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago November 28 to December 2 as Maryland’s state winner in girls records. A Hood College junior and former Prospect 4-H Club leader, she has completed 135 project units in areas from clothing to dairy and has earned multiple honors including the Frederick County Girls Records medal. Police warn of a neat thief after a restaurant break-in in Charleston, SC, netting $20 before washing dishes and fleeing.
