Two or three B 29s Lost in Major Jap Air Battle
Washington reports a three pronged raid by B 29s on Kyushu, omura aircraft plant. Two B 29s were definitely lost to fighters with one more missing. Japanese claims of heavy losses but weather caused partial diversion. Twenty Japanese fighters were shot down and 22 damaged. None of our planes lost on secondary targets at Nanking or Shanghai.
