Nishida promotes easier permits at Maryland Environment
Maryland Environment Secretary Jane Nishida told Frederick business and civic leaders that the agency is streamlining permits and expanding services. The Environmental Permits Service Center integrates experts from air water and waste programs to speed approvals and help compliance. A small business assistance program offers free technical help to dry cleaners and auto repair shops, plus pollution prevention guidance. The MDE is also developing a permit manual and studying duplications with local programs to speed reviews and cut red tape.
