Flocks of geese and other waterfowl have been seen migrating over the local area in recent weeks. The article notes the birds will spend the winter in the sunny south and return north in spring, signaling seasonal movement.
Frederick city crews start installing brand new Christmas decorations downtown Sunday morning to replace weak cables. The project costs about 9000 dollars and will take three to three and a half days, with lights to be formally turned on next Friday at 7 p.m. by May or John A. Derr. Main said he could not confirm if Foreman was the listed intruder in recent break ins. Aldermen asked for a study of dark alleys and lighting, to list poorly lit areas and estimate costs for lighting before budgeting decisions.

PASADENA AP First pictures capable of pinpointing safe landing spots on the moon are to be snapped today by Lunar Orbiter 2. About 16 frames will cover the Sea of Tranquility as small as three feet across, processed in a tiny darkroom aboard the spacecraft and radioed to Madrid then released. Additional transmissions to Madrid and Goldstone Calif are planned, with images to be released in Goldstone later tonight. The photos follow a 30 by 1150 mile low lunar orbit steered by remote control after launch November 7.
Donald C. Linton, county accountant, informed the county commissioners he will not seek reappointment. He cited the pressure of his private accounting business and a partner going on active duty with the Army last month. He offered to assist his replacement until January first.
