Justice Dept to Get Results of Auto Probe
A House committee said evidence of exorbitant profits from some automobile dealers is being turned over to the Justice Department and other agencies. Chairman Macy said the aim is to see if any crime has been committed as the panel widens its auto market inquiry beyond Washington. Reported bonuses of 350 to 500 dollars for quick delivery were discussed as the committee noted large tax returns adjustments and possible unethical practices.
