Unwind Mystery Of Middletown's Summer Robberies

Three months of investigation by Sheriff James A. Jones and State's Attorney Aaron R. Anders culminated in a 1000 mile auto trip through Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They recovered an $800 Emory L. Coblentz diamond ring, arrested a Carlisle inmate connected to the case, and traced stolen goods through Asbury Park and Orange. A suspect, Ben Smith, and a walking pawnbroker, Jim Gray, were central to the ring’s resale chain. The ring was recovered and returned to Coblentz, with further work planned to bring Warner to trial.
