Gaithersburg Couple and Child Die in Head-On Crash
A Gaithersburg couple Alan D. Lighthall 31 Jane Lynn Godfrey Lighthall 27 and their 14 month old daughter Rebecca Lynn died in a head-on collision on Laytonsville Road north of Airpark Drive Sunday night. Their four year old son Nathan was in critical condition and five year old son Brian had two broken legs. A 16 year old Gaithersburg boy driving a 1977 Mercedes failed to negotiate a curve entering the northbound lane and struck the Lighthalls’ 1980 Pontiac Phoenix. The father died at the scene and the mother and baby died at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. The family resided at 54 Nina Court. Charges are pending.
