Frederick County Industry Appeal Grows Despite Shutdowns
Ben G. Atwood of Potomac Edison tells Lions Club in Hagerstown that Frederick County has added six industries in three years despite three closures. Local firms include J. M. Bucheimer Co and American Optical, with outside city firms such as Curtiss Holding and Reed Research. The group envisions tax-paying growth from 174 new workers, $590,000 in added income, and rising retail sales as planning and zoning attract more builders and residents.
