Bethlehem area schools push mandatory student service program
Bethlehem Pa AP students entering Liberty and Freedom high schools face a 60 hour mandatory community service requirement aimed at teaching civic responsibility. Opponents in the CAMS group and parents challenge it as involuntary servitude and argue it overrides parental rights and personal values. The district lists 95 local agencies for placement and will grade reports toward diploma credit.
