Duluth Minnesota November 15. The steamship Hoyt struck rocks near Bayfield Wisconsin. Rescue parties cannot reach the ship though several attempts have been made. The fate of the crew of twenty five is unknown.
A Mississippi woman, Moke AA Natu aeing Mie Button of Ocean Springs, was sentenced to ten years in the state penitentiary for burglary. She abducted a half pound of butter and five eggs from Pred Abbiby’s residence. The sentence was handed down by Judge W H Hardy after an indictment for burglary theft. she appealed to the supreme court, which affirmed the term.
In Doylestown Pa on November 16 the jury found Mrs Maggie Beyers guilty of burning the Beatty farm barn in Warrington Township after twenty seven hours of deliberation. A new trial motion was filed and she was admitted to bail. Prosecution witnesses testified of a quarrel with Miss Mary Bonner and threats, while the defendant denied hostility.
