An estimated 2918 hunters will take to the hills at sunrise Wednesday for the upland game season in Frederick County. Two Cumberland Men Die In Maryland Route Crashes
At least three people were killed in traffic accidents on Maryland highways Monday. In one crash on U S Route 40 Negro Mountain near Grantsville, William R. Sherman and William M. Cousins, both of Cumberland, died when their car hit ice and crashed into a truck. A separate collision on Maryland Route 2 near Prince Frederick injured Maurice Phillips of Washington who later died at Calvert County Hospital. Phillips was riding with Arthur C. Belt of Washington in a car that collided with one driven by Thomas Gray of St. Leonard. Belt faced charges.
