Montgomery faces cuts to after school sports and more
Montgomery County school leaders weigh drastic actions to close a $2 million gap. A budget plan seeks a $27 million capital package for modernizations while underfunding from the County Council and state aid cuts drive potential eliminations of athletic programs, adult education, and preschool services. The board, aiming to keep options open, schedules Dec hearings and plans for 1977 project funding including Poolesville Elementary and upcounty high school expansion.
